Explanation of Assessment Terms

  • APN - (Assessor's Parcel Number) The Assessor Parcel Number is a unique identifier that corresponds to a parcel on an assessor parcel or plat map. It is not a legal description of a property.
  • District- Fire / Tax District
    • 01 - Winnemucca City
    • 02 - General County
    • 03 - Winnemucca Rural
    • 04 - Golconda
    • 05 - Paradise
    • 06 - Pueblo
    • 07 - Orovada
    • 08 - McDermitt
    • 09 - Humboldt
    • 10- Kings River
  • Buildings - Main structures built on a property. These will mainly be residential structures and commercial structures depending on the property type. 
    • Structural Elements - These are the details of the Buildings, listing the exterior walls, roofs, heating & cooling, and additional information of the structure. 
  • MH Conversion - A manufactured home that has be converted to real property. 
  • Extra Features - Improvements that are secondary to the Buildings. Fences, concrete or asphalt, wells/septic's, or any other improvements that are unable to be costed within the Building or Structural Elements. 
  • Land Lines - Land Use Codes, Zoning, Acreage and Taxable value of the land.
  • Personal  Property - A manufactured home that still has a title assigned through the Nevada Housing Division. 
  • Personal Property Accounts - These are separated by the account type listed below. These accounts can be billed on the unsecured roll and receive their own tax bill or they can also be requested to be billed on the secured roll, if the owner of the below account also owns real property in Humboldt County, to receive one single tax bill.  
    • AP - Airplane Accounts
    • BB - Billboard Accounts
    • EQ - Equipment Accounts
    • FR - Farming Accounts
    • MH - Manufactured Home Accounts
    • MM - Mills and Mine Accounts
    • MS - Mobile Storage Accounts (This is when a manufactured home is deemed unlivable or is used for storage only and is not being lived in)
    • TH - Temporary Home Accounts
  • Use Code - This is assigned by our office and does not impact the zoning of the property. This is an internal code used to designate to this office how the property is being used for assessment purposes.
