CARES Housing Assistance Program

CARES Housing Assistance Program launched on 7/14/20 and the funding for the Program was provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by Congress with each state receiving funding.

The State of Nevada identified rental assistance as a priority, and allocated $30 million for this purpose. The Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) was designated by the State of Nevada Housing Division to administer the program to assist impacted renters in rural Nevada; $5 million is in available funds through December 31, 2020.

Assistance through NRHA is available to those who are experiencing a reduction in or loss of income due to COVID-19 and are currently delinquent on rent or utility payments, or anticipate falling behind on housing payments in the future.
