The office of County Assessor is an elected position. The Assessor appraises (or establishes a value for) all property in the county which is subject to taxation and sets the taxable value of each property.
The Public Administrator handles estates of persons who have died and do not have a will. Also, they may not have any relatives willing to handle the matters of their estate.
The County Recorder is responsible for the recordation, scanning / microfilming and indexing of Real Estate Transactions, Mining Claim Locations and Assessment Work, Contracts, Leases, and more.
